No computer runs smoothly by itself for very long, so we do the maintenance for you.

Web servers are complex stacks of software – even the most simple website is atop a pancake of multiple layers of software, each of which must run optimally. Given the complexity they do actually run smoothly themselves most of the time, but manual fixes and software updates are still the norm for the foreseeable future.

A typical monthly session of updates and maintenance will include these items. Time ranges from 1-2 hours depending on size of site and complexity of installation.

  • Installation and testing of software upgrades (typically 25-50% of softwares per month)
    • Web server
    • Website
    • Website plugins
    • E-Commerce (if applicable)
    • E-Commerce plugins
    • Peripheral systems
  • Offsite backups
  • Frontend UI testing
  • Cross platform device checks
  • Database speed optimize
  • Database trash dump
  • Security system check/update
    • Typically there are multiple security systems, some at server (computer) level and some at your website software level, monitoring multiple points of entry (FTP, website admin, server admin, etc.) All of these need to be up to date with software protecting for current threat types which change constantly. Manual checks and monitoring are required to support automatic systems.
  • File system check
  • Implement new best practices
